About Home Alone Project

The project „Home alone” starts with the issues of alienation and loneliness of a young man in the modern world. In every community you can find people who are not accepted by others because they are different (personality, dress, interests, nationalilty or  religion). The schools who take part in this project deal with the refugges or minorities problems. The lack of understanding, acceptance especially towards these people sometimes leads to the situation when the young man escapes to the virtual world, the Internet, mass media. They are not only teenagers but also their parents who are not aware of the Internet dangers (cyber-bullying, grooming, seksting etc.). In this project we want to make them aware of these dangers.
Unfortunately or fortunately (as we want to show in this project) we are not able to eliminate the new technologies from the life of a young man. But we can equip him or her with the knowledge and skills that new technologies  are powerful tools that lead to "life success" of the young man. In this project we also want to show parents and the local community the tools related to the safe usege of modern technologies. We want to encourage the old to learn new technologies to show them that the computer is not only for the young people and they can learn even at the age of 60.

Moreover many young people complain that learning at school is boring and inefficient (except PE and ICT classes) . By introducing the ICT programms and tools during the maths, chemistry or biology lesson we would like to show students and also teachers different, more attractive, effective and innovative methods of acquaring the knowledge. All these performances will encourage the young man to continue their education in the future and will equip the schools with the program of school early leaving prevention.
The project title "Home alone" derives from the popular film "Kevin home alone", where a young boy stays alone at home and deals with the problems of the adult world. In our project after working  with many activities we want our students and their parents to come to the conclusion that they are "Never home alone".
